FNG Builder is licensed in the State of Washington [Verify here] and specializes in new home construction and renovations utilizing a combination of modern technology, with old school carpentry skills and know-how.

Q: Can you give bids and estimates of final costs?

Yes, depending on the project I can give you one price for the project, or I give estimates as to how much it would cost.

Most projects are cost plus meaning the cost to build, plus a percentage. Some smaller projects I charge a flat rate for labor, while some projects I charge by the job.

Q: What does a general contractor do?

A general contractor uses their specialized knowledge, experience and resources to help clients navigate the many risks involved in building. We are also responsible for legal liability, and procuring materials and labor for a project; a general contractor is also responsible for the safety on a job site and during the project, and making sure codes and laws are taken into account and followed appropriately.

Yes. And it might work out great for you, until it doesn’t. Whether you hire my business or a different general contractor you won’t be losing money by hiring a general contractor you’ll be protecting yourself and your investment.

How does this work?

Once you have decided that you want to build something, I sit down and talk to you – and anyone else involved – to get an idea of the project, your budget and anything you think is important.

First we create a contract assigning liability and agreeing to terms such as costs, time frames and standard of quality. Each project has its own issues and each contract is unique, I want both sides to understand who does what before work begins.

Once a contract is signed FNG Builder will be responsible for completing the project, solving any problems that may arise. My job is to provide you with a headache free service so you can worry about other things.

What kind of experiance do you have?

I have been building for over 25 years. I started framing houses in Colorado when I was 18 and traveled around the US for several years framing houses.

I ended up in Vail Colorado where I worked building hi-end custom homes from the ground up.

I moved to Japan and studied home building and carpentry, while running a school.

I have been in Washington State since 2017, and have been licensed as a general contractor since July of 2018.
